    The exhibit shows multiple cystic spaces of various sizes involving the renal parenchymal. The remaining normal renal parenchymal is sill appreciated. No tumour seen.

  • HISTOPATHOLOGY DESCRIPTION

    Polycystic kidney disease shows numerous cyst replacing the renal parenchyma. They are lined by flattened to cuboidal epithelium.

    The exhibit displays enlarged kidneys with multiple small cystic spaces of varying sizes ranging from few milimeter up to 2cm. The cystic spaces consist of predominantly clear fluid. The outer cortical surface is bosselated. Part of the ureter is seen.

    Polycystic kidney disease shows numerous cyst replacing the renal parenchyma. They are lined by flattened to cuboidal epithelium. Scattered glomeruli are seen within.
