PACKED CELL
INDICATIONS
1. Acute haemorrhage/blood loss
2. Symptomatic anaemia due to:
Bone marrow failure or hypoproliferative anaemia (haematological malignancy, marrow suppression by chemotherapy or radiotherapy, Aplastic anaemia, MDS, myelofibrosis
Severe nutritional anaemia (Iron, folate, or vitamin B12 deficiency) especially in elderly patients with angina or Congested Cardiac Failure
Severe Haemolytic anaemia- when anaemia is poor tolerated and Hb < 7 g/dl

INDICATIONS
Treatment or prevention of bleeding due to:
thrombocytopenia (e.g. bone marrow failure, dengue hemorrhagic fever, leukemia)
