    A well-circumscribed and encapsulated lesion, composed of a whitish to yellowish myxoid cut surface. Focal hemorrhages are seen

  • HISTOPATHOLOGY DESCRIPTION

    • A thinly encapsulated and well-circumscribed lesion
    • Hypercellular area (Antoni A) alternating with hypocellular area (Antoni B)
    • Verocay bodies are seen in Antoni A
    • Hyalinised blood vessels

    Sejenis tumor bukan kanser pada sarung saraf. Ia adalah jenis tumor saraf periferi yang biasanya berlaku pada orang dewasa. Walaubagaimanapun, ia boleh berlaku di mana-mana bahagian badan, pada sebarang umur (dalam kes ini, paru-paru). Secara umum, schwannoma tumbuh dengan perlahan. Ia boleh menyebabkan benjolan yang tidak menyakitkan, walaubagaimanapun, sekiranya terlalu besar dan menyebabkan kerosakan saraf, pesakit akan mengalami simtom neurologikal seperti kebas dan sebagainya. Rawatan adalah pembedahan.

  • GROSS DESCRIPTION

    The exhibit displays solitary lung lesion over the upper lobe.

  • HISTOPATHOLOGY DESCRIPTION

    Section shows malignant cells arranged in glands and some in single cells. Some of the glands are elongated and back to back configuration. The cells are moderately pleomorphic, round to oval nuclei shaped, vesicular shromatin pattern and moderate amount of eosinophilic cytoplasm. The stroma is desmoplastic. Atypical mitosis seen.

    Adenocarcinoma of the lung

    Pesakit lelaki berumur 62 tahun, perokok tegar kronik, mengalami batuk berdarah.

    Jenis pembedahan: Lobektomi

    Diagnosis: Kanser paru-paru

    Status: Pesakit mendapat rawatan kemoterapi walau bagaimanapun telah meninggal dunia akibat kanser.

    Section shows malignant spindle cells arranged in haphazard and storiform pattern. The cells is moderate to markedly pleomorphic, oval nuclei shaped, moderate amount of eosinophilic cytoplasm. Necrosis also identified. Numeroud mitosis inckuding atypical form is seen.

    Section shows myocardial disarray exhibit box shaped nuclei with abundant eosinophilic cytoplasm. Some of the myocytes forming bizarre Y shaped.

    Section shows malignant epithelial cells arranged in small cluster and nest. The cells are moderate to markedly pleomorphic, round to oval nuclei, vesicular to hyperchromatic, and moderate amount of eosinophilic cytoplasm. The stroma is desmoplastic. Numerous mitosis seen including atypical form. Keratin pearl and individual keratinization seen. Intercellular bridges identified.

    Keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma
