  • GROSS DESCRIPTION

    The exhibit displays an exophytic circumferential tumour with depressed centre. The tumour extends up to the serosa.

  • HISTOPATHOLOGY DESCRIPTION

    m1014 93 0005

    Section shows malignant glands arranged back to back pattern, arising from the mucosa, infiltrating into the stroma. They are pleomorphic, having vesicular to hyperchromatic nuclei, conspicuous nucleoli and moderate amount of cytoplasm. Tumour necrosis is seen in the glandular lumina.

    The exhibit displays ill defined lesion over the lesser curvature. It appears as thicken mucosa.

  • HISTOPATHOLOGY DESCRIPTION

    Gastric adenocarcinoma shows infiltrating tumour cells arranged in small sheets. Some of the cells exhibit signet ring displaying central, optically clear, globoid droplet of cytoplasmic mucin with an eccentrically placed nucleus.

    The exhibit displays an exophytic circumferential lesion obstructing the lumen. Central ulceration with can be seen. Adjacent mucosa show flatten mucosal fold.

    It shows infiltrating adenocarcinoma in the muscular propria . On the right side is the normal colonic mucosa.

    The exhibit displays hundreds of polyps carpeting the mucosa of the colon. They vary in size from small, sessile polyps to large, spherical, and pedunculated ones.

    Tubular adenomax

    Polyps in familial adenomatous polyposis have same architecture as their sporadic counterpart. Most are tubular adenoma or less frequently villous or tubulovillous.
