The exhibit displays enlarged and distorted thyroid gland. There is presence of cystically dilated follicle. The other adjacent thyroid parenchyma display diffuse heterogenous nodularity, with some nodule appear dominant and partly surrounded by fibrous septae. Areas of calcification appreciated.
The thyroid shows mutiple nodule composed of varying size of thyroid follicles. The nodules are surrounded by incomplete fibrous capsule of variable thickness. All the follicles are lined by flattened, inactive follicular cells. Degenerative changes composed of scarring and calcification are seen.
